Warner Bros. Pictures has won the rights to Siren Head in a competitive bidding war. The studio beat out several other bidders for the viral horror property created by artist Trevor Henderson.

The project brings together two rising horror talents. Zach Cregger, the filmmaker behind the hit Weapons, is co-writing the screenplay with Brian Duffield. Duffield, known for No One Will Save You and the upcoming Whalefall, is also set to direct the film.

    What Is Siren Head?

Siren Head is a tall, skeletal creature with two sirens for a head. It first gained attention online in 2018 through Henderson’s artwork and quickly became a popular internet horror figure. The character has appeared in countless videos, games, and stories across platforms like TikTok and YouTube. The movie is being positioned as the next big adaptation of an internet-born horror concept, similar to how Backrooms found success on screen.

    Creative Team Behind the Project

Zach Cregger is also onboard as a producer, teaming up with Roy Lee and Andrew Childs of Vertigo Entertainment. Scott Glassgold of 12:01 Films is also producing. Trevor Henderson, the creator of the character, is expected to executive produce. Duffield and Cregger reportedly developed an original take on the material that excited studios during the bidding process. Their combined experience in horror and genre filmmaking makes this one of the more high-profile packages in development right now.

Siren Head has massive online reach, with billions of views across social media and gaming platforms. Studios see it as a ready-made horror brand with strong recognition among younger audiences. This comes at a time when internet horror stories are successfully making the jump to theaters and streaming. Warner Bros. clearly sees strong potential in bringing this creature to the big screen with established filmmakers attached.

    What Comes Next

There is no release date or casting information available yet. The project is still in the early development stage, with the focus currently on finalizing the script.

Given the talent involved and the studio’s investment, Siren Head is expected to move forward relatively quickly. Horror fans will likely be watching closely as more details emerge in the coming months.
