Production has closed on Daredevil: Born Again Season 3. Actor Royce Johnson, who plays Detective Brett Mahoney on the series, shared photos from the wrap party over the weekend, a strong signal that filming has concluded roughly on schedule, according to Bleeding Cool. ScreenRant reported the same wrap independently, though as of this writing, neither Marvel Studios nor Disney+ has issued a formal statement confirming it.
The production timeline. Filming began March 17, 2026, under the working title “Out of the Kitchen.” Showrunner Dario Scardapane told Entertainment Weekly in early May that the show had reached roughly its halfway point, describing the schedule in his own words: shooting was moving through “episode block 2,” with a wrap targeted for early July, as relayed by Business Upturn. That puts the wrap roughly on time, if a few weeks past the original early-July target.
What Matt Murdock is walking into. Season 2 ended with Matt Murdock, played by Charlie Cox, publicly revealing in court that he is Daredevil in order to stop Wilson Fisk‘s Kingpin, played by Vincent D’Onofrio. That confession leaves him facing arrest and prosecution heading into Season 3. Per Art Threat, set photos have also pointed to Sheila Rivera launching a mayoral run in Kingpin’s absence, alongside hints of a deeper conspiracy tied to a mysterious figure known as Mr. Charles. According to ScreenRant’s season breakdown, the season is drawing loosely from Ed Brubaker’s “Devil In Cell-Block D” comic storyline, which followed Matt’s life after his own secret identity became public.
A Defenders-sized reunion. Season 3 is bringing back more of the Marvel-Netflix era’s original cast than either prior season. Krysten Ritter returns as Jessica Jones, continuing her run of Alias Investigations after appearing earlier in Season 2. Set photos have also confirmed Mike Colter and Finn Jones are back as Luke Cage and Danny Rand, while Wilson Bethel returns as Bullseye, reportedly leaning further into the character’s comic-accurate role as a hired killer, according to Business Upturn’s cast rundown.
When to actually expect it. No official premiere date has been announced. But the pattern is consistent: Season 1 premiered in March 2025, Season 2 followed in March 2026, and TechRadar notes that an early 2027 launch lines up with both that pattern and the show’s now-completed production schedule. TechRadar also cautions not to expect a trailer particularly early — teasers for the previous two seasons didn’t surface until shortly before their respective premieres, with a possible behind-closed-doors preview at New York Comic Con in October considered plausible but unconfirmed.
Marvel has already renewed the series for two additional seasons beyond this one, according to Art Threat, suggesting Season 3’s arrival next March is really just the next stop in a much longer run for Hell’s Kitchen’s vigilante lawyer.
