Mattel used San Diego Comic-Con this week to lay out its Monster High Skullector plans for the rest of 2026, and the lineup leans harder into horror than any previous wave of the collector doll line, according to All Hallows Geek. The roadmap spans classic movie monsters, a slasher icon, and a pair of stop-motion holiday staples, all reimagined through Monster High’s signature style.
Universal Monsters Lead the Charge
The rollout kicked off with a limited Universal Monsters set featuring Frankenstein’s Monster, The Mummy, and Dracula, sold exclusively through Walmart.com for $44 each. Collectors who miss that initial drop will get another shot when the trio hits retail stores and rolls out internationally on September 1, according to Bloody Disgusting.
Michael Myers Joins the Class
Slasher fans get their turn on August 8, when a Michael Myers doll inspired by “Halloween II” arrives for $70. The figure comes dressed in a red glitter-splattered blue jumpsuit and includes a film-inspired charm belt carrying a tiny syringe and hatchet, according to All Hallows Geek.
More Holiday Terrors on the Way
Beyond the Halloween-season releases, Mattel also confirmed dolls based on Oogie Boogie and Krampus are still to come this year, expanding the line’s reach into holiday-horror territory, per Bloody Disgusting. That pairs with an already-released set built around “The Nightmare Before Christmas”: a 12-inch Jack Skellington in his signature pinstriped tuxedo and bat bow tie, alongside a 10.5-inch Sally featuring her patchwork dress reworked into a couture silhouette, according to Mattel Creations. Both dolls ship in packaging designed around callbacks to the film, including hidden Easter eggs tucked into the box art.
Beyond Horror Movies
Not every recent Skullector release sticks strictly to horror cinema. Mattel also put out a Skeletor doll crossing over with Masters of the Universe, dressed in clawed sandals and carrying his signature staff, according to Mattel Creations. On the other end of the spectrum, a two-pack based on Jordan Peele’s “Us” reimagines Adelaide and Red as a tethered pair, posed with scissors in hand, according to a separate Mattel Creations listing.
A Growing Collector Line
Comic-Con also brought a Monster High original into the mix: the Skullector Ghouls Rule Lagoona Blue doll, priced at $75 and sold both through Mattel Creations and as a direct SDCC floor exclusive starting July 23, according to Bleeding Cool. The design ties into a “Ghouls Rule” storyline in which Lagoona hosts a Halloween masquerade, complete with a display base built around dark-water effects and rising tentacle details.
Skullector has built its reputation on exactly this kind of mashup, blending original Monster High characters like Cleo De Nile, Draculaura, and Frankie Stein with licensed horror and pop-culture properties, according to Mattel’s own Skullector collection page. Access to some releases is tied to Mattel’s Fang Club membership program, which offers early access to select drops ahead of general availability. With Universal Monsters already on shelves and Michael Myers, Oogie Boogie, and Krampus still to come, Mattel is positioning the line as its centerpiece for the 2026 Halloween season.
