Millie Bobby Brown Officially Returns to Netflix Ahead of New Stranger Things Episodes

Millie Bobby Brown is officially back on Netflix with a major new project, just months after wrapping her iconic role as Eleven in Stranger Things Season 5. The streamer has given a straight-to-series order to an untitled spy drama starring Brown and her former on-screen father David Harbour, reuniting the duo in a brand-new story.

The announcement comes as Netflix continues to expand its slate of original series, and it positions Brown as one of the platform’s most valuable stars even after the conclusion of its biggest hit. Full details of the casting and series order were reported by Deadline and IGN.

    A Father-Daughter Spy Thriller

The new series, written and executive produced by Jack Thorne (Adolescence, Enola Holmes), follows disgraced former FBI agent Matt Wolfe (Harbour), who is pulled back into the field when his estranged daughter Rebecca (Brown) — now an FBI agent herself — disappears during a mission. The story explores themes of family, redemption, and the evolving world of espionage.

Netflix described the project as a deeply human thriller, highlighting Thorne’s skill at blending emotional depth with high-stakes suspense. Brown and Harbour will also serve as executive producers alongside Thorne and a team from A24 and other production companies. Additional coverage of the project’s development appeared in The Hollywood Reporter and E! Online.

This marks a deliberate shift for Brown into more mature, adult-oriented material while staying firmly within the Netflix ecosystem.

    Reuniting with David Harbour

Fans of Stranger Things have long loved the father-daughter dynamic between Eleven and Hopper, and this new series promises to explore a similar but very different relationship. Harbour and Brown have both spoken warmly about their real-life bond, with Harbour previously teasing that “10 years wasn’t enough” and that audiences would see more of them together. The reunion casting was also highlighted by ScreenRant.

The spy drama gives them a fresh canvas while capitalizing on their proven chemistry. Early reactions to the casting news have been overwhelmingly positive, with many viewers excited to see the pair tackle a grounded thriller rather than supernatural horror.

    Expanding Her Netflix Footprint

Brown’s return to Netflix isn’t limited to this spy series. She also stars in Enola Holmes 3, which arrived on the platform in early July 2026, continuing her successful franchise as the clever young detective. The release of the third installment was covered by 3DVF. Additional projects, including a romantic comedy and a supernatural series she is producing, are also in various stages of development, as noted in IndiaTimes.

This multi-project commitment solidifies her status as a key Netflix talent who can carry both blockbuster franchises and original stories.

What It Means for Stranger Things Fans

While Stranger Things Season 5 has concluded, the new spy drama offers fans a different kind of reunion with two beloved characters — or at least the actors who played them. It also signals that Netflix is not done mining the talent and goodwill from its flagship series.

For Brown personally, the move represents a strategic evolution. After growing up on screen as Eleven, she is now taking on leading roles in adult dramas and action-oriented stories while maintaining a strong relationship with the platform that made her a global star.

    Looking Ahead

With the spy drama now officially in production and Enola Holmes 3 already streaming, Millie Bobby Brown’s post-Stranger Things era on Netflix is off to a strong start. The combination of franchise familiarity and bold new territory should keep her at the center of the streamer’s biggest conversations for years to come.

Whether audiences will see any additional Stranger Things content in the future remains to be seen, but for now, Brown is proving she doesn’t need Hawkins to remain one of Netflix’s most important stars
