Marvel Announces New Spider-Man Tabletop RPG Coming in September

Marvel has revealed that a new Spider-Man role-playing game adventure will arrive this September. In Marvel Multiverse Role-Playing Game: Spider-Man – Midtown Mayhem, players will find themselves caught in a high-stakes gang war featuring Spider-Man and the Hulk.

The news was shared directly by Marvel and has been welcomed by fans of both the character and tabletop gaming.

A Gang War in the Heart of Manhattan

The story focuses on a violent conflict between Tombstone and the criminal group known as the Hand. As the situation escalates across Midtown, Spider-Man finds himself stuck in the middle. The Hulk’s sudden involvement only makes things more unpredictable and destructive.

Rather than a large-scale event, the adventure leans into street-level threats and personal stakes, which many fans feel suits Spider-Man’s character well. According to Marvel’s official announcement, the story puts Spider-Man and the Hulk in the middle of a gang war exploding in Manhattan.

Built for Existing Marvel RPG Fans

This release is part of Marvel’s current Marvel Multiverse Role-Playing Game line. It’s designed as a ready-to-play adventure, giving game masters everything they need to run a self-contained story without requiring additional books.

Writers Matt Forbeck and Cody Ziglar are handling the writing, while Ruairi Coleman is providing the artwork. The book is expected to be around 64 pages, making it a focused experience rather than a full campaign. Early retailer listings on sites like Walt’s Comic Shop already show pre-order options for the September release.

    Why This One Feels Different

Most recent Marvel RPG releases have gone for bigger, flashier concepts. Midtown Mayhem stands out because it stays grounded in classic Spider-Man territory — neighborhood crime, gang conflicts, and the daily struggles of protecting the city.

The addition of the Hulk brings a strong contrast in power levels, which could lead to interesting gameplay moments where brute force and agility have to work together (or clash). ScreenRant has also noted growing interest in new Spider-Man-related projects across different mediums this year.

    Release Details

Marvel has confirmed a September 2026 release. Pre-order pages from several retailers currently list September 22 as the expected date. The book will be available in physical format through comic shops and game stores.

More information, including previews and exact contents, is expected to be shared in the coming months as the release gets closer. Some listings suggest the adventure will include maps, encounters, and support for both new and experienced players of the Marvel Multiverse system.

    Early Fan Response

Reactions so far have been generally positive. Many tabletop players are happy to see Marvel continuing to support its RPG line with new adventures. Some have also pointed out that a more street-level Spider-Man story is something they’ve wanted to see in the system for a while.

Whether this becomes the start of more regular RPG releases or stays as a one-off adventure remains to be seen. For now, fans of both Spider-Man and tabletop gaming have something new to look forward to later this year.
